Fashion Design Institute
BACKGROUND
AMNA proposed to intervene in the high unemployment and underemployment problem of youth in Cameroon. In collaboration with the Redeemed Christian Church of God North America Women in Ministry (RCCGNA WIM) set up a vocational training center to train young ladies to sew and create fashion accessories for sustainable living. The project is located in Mendong, Yaoundé. Renovation work on the institute facility (electrical, painting, furniture and equipment installation, etc.) was completed and students were enrolled in the program. The project was commissioned on July 20, 2016.
IMPACT
Fifteen (15) students enrolled and ten (10) students were admitted due to the size of the class and they were trained by Mrs. Valerie-Claire Jang, a seasoned fashion designer with a thriving outfit. Pastor Etongo Victor Ngasi is the Project Manager.
